Join the GTAWH Multiplayer Crew

Posted by: G-WizZ on May 10 @ 7:42 PM with 2 replies
The Rockstar Games Social Club received a complete overhaul this past week in preparation for the forming of multiplayer crews.

How do "crews" work? Crews are essentially online gangs that players can create, customize, or join. The difference between crews and traditional "clans" however, is that since the crews are organized via the Social Club, they work cross-platform, and even will carry over into future Rockstar titles like Grand Theft Auto V.

What does this mean? You can join one of the many public crews that Rockstar have created, or you can create your own private crew, as we have done for GTA Warehouse. As you play Max Payne 3 (and, later, GTAV), your stats are recorded in the Social Club, and they also contribute to the stats of your crew as a whole. You can even start feuds with rival crews in the same way you can set a vendetta on a single opposing player.

The best part? Like we said earlier, crews work cross-platform and across future Rockstar titles. Members of your crew could be playing either Max Payne 3 or GTAV, on PC, Xbox360 or Playstation3, representing your crew beyond the limitations of traditional platform-dependent clans.

Fansite Event #5 - Max Payne 3

Posted by: G-WizZ on May 2 @ 12:01 PM with 11 replies

Last week, GTA Warehouse had the opportunity to once again visit New York City courtesy of Rockstar Games, and spend the weekend playing Max Payne 3 with other fansite webmasters:

Spent bullet casings littered the ground, music was blasting from the ridiculous speaker system, Rockstar logo signs were hung on the walls, and a spotlight of the Rockstar crest illuminated the floor. Sixteen Xbox360 consoles were hooked up to LED televisions in four groups of four, with leather chairs surrounding them. A random console's screen was being projected onto the huge back wall, and upstairs in the loft were a handful of monstrous gaming computers for those of us who preferred a PC.

Read about the entire weekend on our fansite events page, and check out the newest addition to our network, Payne 3 Warehouse, which launched today and will greatly expand once the game is released on May 15th.

Could Vehicles Seen in Max Payne 3 Appear in GTAV?

Posted by: G-WizZ on Apr 26 @ 2:33 PM with 8 replies
Something that Grand Theft Auto fans are familiar with can be seen in the recent Bullet Time Design & Technology video from Max Payne 3. First appearing at around the 11-second mark, you can see the shell of what closely resembles the Cognoscenti from GTAIV, as well as the similar-looking blue car from the GTAV trailer:

Having established the possible use of common vehicle models across the two series, there is the chance that other vehicles in Max Payne 3 could appear in Grand Theft Auto V. One in particular is the Ford Crown Victoria/Chevrolet Caprice mashup called the LTS3900, seen multiple times during the first 25 seconds of Creating a Cutting Edge Action-Shooter:

One thing that GTAIV lacked (which San Andreas had) was a civilian version of the same model car used for police cruisers and taxis. In San Andreas, the civilian model was the Premier, and since in GTAIV (and likely in GTAV) the Premier looks like this, could the LTS3900 be a new car manufactured by Vapid which will be the civilian version of police cars in Grand Theft Auto V?

We plan on diving into this much deeper once Max Payne 3 is released. Stay tuned.

Pet Peeves IV

Oh yeah... it's time for number 4. Don't like it? So what, I don't care.

Most of my Peeves have been about cars, and while I still have a few more coming, I'm going to start on other parts of the game. CAN YA'LL DIG IT?

Building Interiors - OK, I don't know about the rest of you, but this used to piss me right the hell off. Aside from the fact there were only a FEW buildings you could go into... Why f*cking lock a building after the mission is done, what does that solve? How do you explore or go back and see what you may have missed during a major shoot out mission? One of the biggest things for me in GTA aside from the cars, was exploring and seeing all the sights - trying to find some oddball thing that R* may have threw in there. Hell, even San Andreas had interiors of convenience stores, many different clothing stores, and even restaurants that were ALWAYS open. The clothing stores in GTA IV are locked in TLAD & TBOGT.
After most of the missions were done in the first GTA IV play through, I wanted to walk back into the BANK OF LIBERTY and shoot the place up and steal some money. Or at least see the detail of the bank first hand...and not though an in-game video or mission where the Police are handing you your ass. Another side mission could be locating all the interiors, hiding more packages and easter eggs.

The Train - Let's bring riding the rails back. I don't mean the shitty one-way subway system LC had. Im talking about a freight train that you could drive/ride. (Like San Andreas). Another side mission could be freighting stolen cars/cargo back and forth, though the massive map. (Yes, actually loading up a car carrier or box car with the Forklift). Maybe even drive a Passenger train, but not only be able to drive it, but be able to walk though the cars as if they were a building interior. Could add some more freedom and excitement to the game.

Finding Cars in Different Conditions - If you were to take a walk around the actual New York City, and look at all the cars/trucks/SUVs parked on the side of the many one way roads, would you see PRISTINE, CLEAN, DENT/SCRATCH free cars? I think not. This should be implemented into GTA. Lets see cars with missing wheels covers, maybe a gash or 2 on the side fender, a bashed in rear end from trying to parallel park, major rust spots, different color door(s), or maybe even the occasional flat tire. If you happen to "acquire" one of these cars, and your unhappy with it, this can be fixed at TransFender or something of the like. But until that repair is done, the car will maintain that visual damage.
